In 2003, the Marshall Islands was an island nation located in the Pacific Ocean. It had a population of around 55,000 people, primarily speaking Marshallese and English. According to computergees, the capital city was Majuro, which is home to the Presidential Palace and several other important government buildings and monuments. The economy relied heavily on its fishing and agricultural sectors with copra being the main export item. Tourism was also becoming increasingly popular due to its stunning beaches and idyllic islands. In addition to its natural beauty, the Marshall Islands had a rich cultural heritage with traditional music, cuisine and art that blended Polynesian influences with those from Europe and Asia. Despite its many challenges including poverty and political unrest in 2003, the Marshall Islands remained a vibrant country that held great promise for its future generations.

Marshall Islands. On 30 April, the Marshall Islands and the United States signed a new Compact of Free Association agreement which provides the state with assistance over the next 20 years. According to Countryaah.com, Marshall Islands Independence Day is May 1. The US continued to have the right to have military bases on the Kwajaleinatoll. However, the new agreement does not include either medical care or compensation for the victims of the nuclear tests that the United States did in the 1950s, which the victims protested against. The previous agreement, which expired September 30, included money for research, health care and financial support for housing at the Bikini, Enewetak, Rongelap and Utirik atolls, which were worst hit by the test blasts. The research continues, but with the support of an American foundation. In November, an American scientist received $ 100,000 to study the radioactive damage.

In the November 17 parliamentary elections, the ruling United Democratic Party (UDP) got 20 of the 33 seats. The UDP thereby strengthened its power with a mandate and still has its own majority in parliament. The choice was marked by the unusual number of foreign residents voting.

Climate
Marshall Islands have a tropical climate, with almost daily rainfall. The air is warm all year round and the average temperature is 27 C all year round and the sea water temperature is 26 C. From December to March the cooling winds blow. The rainy season runs from September to November.

Travel Seasons
The best time to travel is during our summer season, the quietest season in October and November. Cyclone season from November to April but they can occur all year round.
